Abstract

In his first poetic collection, meets Jorge Luis Borges poems of different periods, so it is far from uniform: it is not a book dedicated exclusively to the eponymous city, as the title suggests, rather, may identify topics that correspond to various poetic styles: for example, the theme of love often corresponds with the epistolary style, the theme of the evening with the descriptive style, and philosophical with baroque. Specifically, in this paper I analyze the baroque philosophical poems of Fervor, the “martingalas literarias” or “tecniquerías” that the young Borges, simultaneously he censors in other authors, practices in his own work.
