Abstract
José Emilio Pacheco’s poetry is closely related to the poetic thought expressed in his poetic in his “Aproximaciones” and in his poems written in homage to other poets. From these homage-poems, we have selected a representative corpus in order to show the singularity of the Pacheco’s poetic discourse: the poets he celebrates, in becoming the object of the poem, allow him to set them within his own aesthetic, historical and cultural parameters and at the same time update them and thereby socialize the aesthetic discourse. These texts work for Pacheco like mirrors reflecting the literary history which preceded him.Nueva Revista de Filología Hispánica (1947-), volume 66, 2, July-December 2018, is a semi-annual publication edited by El Colegio de México, Carretera Picacho Ajusco 20, Ampliación Fuentes del Pedregal, Tlalpan, C.P. 14110, Mexico City, Mexico, Tel.
