Abstract
En las últimas ediciones del DRAE se han incluido españolismos. Sin embargo, las pocas voces de este tipo frente al elevado número de mexicanismos muestran la necesidad de utilizar un criterio diferente y estadísticamente confiable para hacer un análisis cuantitativo de esos vocablos. Con ese propósito se comparan un diccionario español y otro mexicano. La recopilación de los reginoalismos -connotativos y denotativos- arroja datos que difieren de manera notable de los que ofrece el DRAE.
