Abstract

Although it is supposed that subjuntive future cantare disappears in 16th century, some papers prove that this form is used in America until 18th century; in this period, it is replaced by different verbal tenses. This paper aims to analyse the utilization of cantare in Central America documents, in order to describe its use in this region during 18th century; for this purpose, different factors will be considered, and our results will be compared with these obtained in other American areas, like Uruguay, Argentina or Venezuela.
